Travel and Accomodation

Accommodation

To foster interaction and discussions among participants, we strongly encourage staying at the conference venue. However, availability is limited.

  • at the venue
    • Accommodation at the conference venue is now fully booked.
    • Check-in: From 13:00 (1:00 p.m.) on your arrival day (May 15)
      If you are arriving after 19:00 (7:00 p.m.) on May 15, please make sure to inform Haus der Bayerischen Landwirtschaft in advance.
    • Check-out: By 09:00 (9:00 a.m.) on your departure day (May 18).
      Although the rooms must be vacated before the Sunday morning session begins, there will be ample space available to store your luggage during the day.
  • outside the venue

    • For participants without a car, we recommend booking accommodation along the S-Bahn S8 line for easier access to the venue (for travel see below).

Travel
  • There is a direct train (S8) from the airport via city centre to Herrsching. The train takes approximately 90 minutes from the airport and 50 minutes from the central train station. See here for the latest schedule and service updates (in German).
  • From Herrsching S-Bahn station, you can take Bus 921 to Herrsching-Lochschwab. See here for the bus schedule. The conference venue is just a 2-minute walk from the bus stop.
  • Transportation Ticket Information
    • Herrsching is located in zones 3/4 of the Munich public transport network. You'll need to calculate how many zones you're crossing to determine the correct fare. You can find zone maps and more information here
    • Tickets can be purchased at train stations (ticket machines) or via the MVV or MVGO mobile apps.
    • We strongly recommend downloading one of the mobile apps (MVV or MVGO) to purchase tickets easily and to help plan your route. The apps will automatically calculate the correct zones and fares for you.
    • A single ticket will cover both the S-Bahn train and the bus ride.
    • There are also day tickets and weekly tickets available—prices vary depending on the number of zones.
